Mr. Rashid Mohamed Alabbar is known for success in e-commerce. He initially co-founded Sivvi.com, a fashion & lifestyle platform that sells clothing, footwear, and accessories from more than 200 high-street, sports, beauty and lifestyle brands. He has since moved into luxury online retail through a joint venture with Yoox Net-a-Porter (YNAP), which owns six multi-brand websites including Net-a-Porter.com, via Alabbar’s Symphony Investments (part of Alabbar Enterprises), which Alabbar chairs. He has interests in food industry through a plethora of luxury food-brands on the portfolio of Alabbar Enterprises
He has won various accolades including “40 and Under: the Most Influential Young Arabs in the Middle East 2017” by Arabian Business. He has also been appointed as a board member at the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. He has spearheaded various initiatives as a member of the board of directors at Barakat Group. A keen sportsman, he is an active member of the UAE’s endurance horse racing community
Mr. Abdulrahim Arjumand is an experienced Emirati businessman with a diversified portfolio of investments in the UAE within trading, industrial and real estate sector. His wealth of experience initiated within the UAE financial sector and has since expanded with investments in numerous local entities in sectors such as in Foods & Beverages manufacturing and trading, as well as hospitality trading and maintenance services. Furthermore, he has largely invested in the development of local industrial and commercial real estate. Barakat Group is a pivotal part of his interest within his investments in the local food manufacturing sector and remains a key part of Mr. Arjumand’s strategy and long-term vision of the UAE’s growing economy.
Mr. Mahmood Fouladfard is the founder of Barakat Group of Companies and has been a member of the Board since inception. He started Barakat out of a retail shop in Hamriya market in the mid-1970s and grew the business by travelling around the world in order to initiate the supply of new products to the UAE market. He personally oversaw the expansion of Barakat in the early 2000s into manufacturing and the creation of the market leading FMCG brand that exists today. Mahmood is an active investor in the region with investments across a variety of different industries
Mr. Farooq Mahmood Arjomand started his career as a banker at HSBC in 1985 and gained extensive experience in private banking, corporate finance, trade services and investment banking. He served as a Senior Manager for the Middle East Region at HSBC bank. In addition, he founded the Arjomand Group of companies in 2000 and currently is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Arjomand Group. Mr. Arjomand also serves as Chairman of Damac Properties Dubai Co. PJSC. He has served as Vice Chairman of Amlak Finance PJSC and has been its Director since 2001. Mr. Arjomand received his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) in Business Management from Seattle Pacific University in the United States in 1984
